Medicare is a federal health insurance program.

Medicare offers two options for health care coverage:

Original Medicare - Non-HMO

Medicare Advantage – HMO (Offers additional benefits)

There are four parts to Medicare. Each has its own benefit.

Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance)

Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance, e.g., Dr. visits)

Medicare Part C (Medicare Advantage), an alternative to original Medicare.

Medicare Part D (Prescription Drug Coverage)
You’re first eligible to sign up for Medicare 3 months before you turn 65. You may be eligible to apply for Medicare earlier if you have a disability.
